Faith,  God,  Nursing and the Name

Nursing and the Name: Blog Series Coming Soon!

Friends,

I’ve been having a hard time sitting down and writing lately. I feel like I haven’t had much direction with my posts and started to wonder why I was bothering to write disjointed ramblings on issues I thought relevant for Christian Nurses.

As I do, I took it to the big guy. I asked the Lord to reveal to me what it is He wants me to write about and that is when this blog series came to mind.

Nursing and the Name is all about how we nurse in the secular world. The vast majority of us will not work at faith based institutions where we are allowed to openly and honestly share our faith with our patients, families, and colleagues. So how do we continue to live out our Christian calling, set ourselves apart even, without proclaiming the name of the Lord?

The bible tells us this

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” – John 13:34-35

Over the next few weeks I will attempt to show how God can make Himself known in the dark places, in the pain, in the uncertainty, in the hopelessness through his disciples: you and me. Even if saying his Name out loud would have us reprimanded, we can still make Him known by the love that we give. The selfless love of Christ and His incredible sacrifice is a different love than the one the world knows. And as Christians, we have the ability to show that love to others in all that we do. So our profession becomes our witness. And in all of our actions we proclaim the Name of God Almighty!

I so hope you will join me as we explore Nursing and the Name starting November 12, 2018! Share this post with anyone you feel might like to tag along!
